From La Roque Gageac, village classified in the “Plus Beaux Villages de France” (Most Beautiful Villages in France) to the Castelnaud Bridge overlooked by the 12th century castle, this part of the river offers a unique insight into the history of Périgord and its castles and is also an original way to discover its nature, fauna and flora.

“Gabares NORBERT” is a family-run company that attaches great important to the transmission of the values and authenticity of Périgord heritage. We are committed to passing on the history and also the traditions and lives of the boatmen of yesteryear.

During this river trip on an authentic reproduction of an 18th century boat, you will relive this distant era when all transport (wine, wood, fish, salt, chestnuts, truffles, etc.) was carried out by boat often under difficult conditions.

Our hostesses, captains and guides will be happy to welcome you and make your river trip an unforgettable moment of escape… and culture!
